Morro On Guard

Morro On Guard

Built in1589, Morro Castle (Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro) has stood as a harbor defense in Havana, Cuba.  While it is a tourist and historical attraction today, it was a formidable defense in its time, and even as late as the early 1960s was used to imprison those captured in the CIA-sponsored failed Bay of Pigs invasion.  It is shown here from the other side of the harbor channel with its beacon shining as dawn breaks.
