In late 2011, a merry band of 70 or so photographers embarked on an 11-day voyage and trek to Antarctica. The trip was an amazing combination of travel. Our first two days across the infamous Drake Passage battered us with waves and wind that would not quit. The stormy seas gave way to many days of quite flat seas in the Antarctica region. Twice a day, we took to our zodiac boats to cruise near and land on all sorts of terrain. The friendly penguins were in abundance at many sites, and seals were often seen. Then, back to port via another two-day Drake adventure.
